Wash the wild rice, cover with boiling water add 1 tsp of salt. Boil 5 minutes. Drain and repeat. Add water and salt a 3rd time and boil the rice for 45 minutes. While the rice is cooking sauté 1/2 medium onion, mushrooms, celery, red/green pepper, seasonings to taste, and 1 lb of hamburger.
Once the rice has cooked, (drain any excess water), mix the hamburger and rice together and put in a 1.5 quart casserole. Pour the consomme soup over it and cook 1 hour at 325°F.
Serve with a side salad or on its own.
